You’re engaged! Now what?

Congratulations! You're getting married!

All the day dreaming and pinning on Pinterest have finally become a reality. But, where do you begin?

Here are the top 3 things to decide before you begin your wedding planning process.

Step 1: Establish a budget

Money isn’t the sexiest thing to talk about as soon as you are engaged. But, it's essential to your wedding planning process. Establish who is paying for what and how much you can realistically afford. At Natalies Brides, we have a state-of-the-art program to help you create the perfect budget and ease the stress of handling money.

Interested in doing it yourself? The Knot has a great resource for tracking your budget.

Step 2: Size

Once you know a general idea of budget, start to create a draft guest list. This will give you a general idea of how many guests you want to invite, can afford to invite and help you to find the perfect venue that fits your party. The last thing you want to do is fall in love with a venue that fits 100 guests and your guest list is 300 or more.

Step 3: Location, Location, Location

Begin searching for your wedding venue.

Do you want to have the ceremony and reception in one space? Or multiple? Church wedding? Outdoors? The options are endless! Online research is a good starting point, websites such as The Knot and The Perfect Wedding Guide are great resources. Once you find places that can reasonably fit your guest count and budget, make some appointments to view the sites. While at your site visit, be sure to ask about catering, parking and availability.

At Natalies Brides, we have the luxury of visiting and planning weddings at a variety of places in St. Louis and beyond. We would love to be able to share some suggestions with you to plan your big day.

It’s easy to get carried away with the little details immediately after he popped the question and become very overwhelmed with all of the things to do. But at Natalies Brides, we work with you to ease you into the process and help you prioritize your time and responsibilities to make your big day your dream come true!

Happy Planning!
